Unboxing Television is organized around a series of respondent-lead roundtable discussions following six broad themes:
- Extensions of television content, platforms, audiences, and...
- Contextualizing current changes
- Unfolding and understanding communities
- Complicating authorship and cultural labor
- Citizenship, politics, and television
- Evolving television studies
Each roundtable will focus on a theme, featuring four provocations, and be managed by a respondent, who will open discussion up to the group. The final session about "Evolving television studies" is intended not only to address the future nature of our work but also to allow us to discuss some concrete outcomes from the event.
The event will take place in building E51 on the MIT campus. A map of the campus can be downloaded here. A printable copy of this program is available for download here.
